BCOA Centennial National Specialty, King’s Island, Ohio

We had a lovely, although exhausting, time at the BCOA national specialty show!

Our LGRA experience was somewhat disappointing as Flareon just wasn’t interested in playing this time around [sigh]. We decided we would keep her anyway 😉

The ASFA lure coursing proved a bit better for us, with Kalipso taking second in his Field Champion stake, and Magik winning NBQ in her Open stake. Somewhat of a disappointment since a 4th placement for Magik would have finished her ASFA Field Championship.

In the Sweepstakes classes, Taarna made the cut under judge Ron Williams. A nice surprise for us!

In the Regular classes Taarna again made the cut, this time under judge Jim Heard! Another nice surprise! Magik then made the cut in the American-Bred class.

Nikki won 4th place in a lovely Brood Bitch class with her kids Burni and Duri, which made us *very* proud since she’s our special girl. Kalipso assisted his mother, Nofretary, in winning a 2nd place in Brood Bitch. Burni assisted his father Remy in a 2nd place win in the Stud Dog class. Nikki also made the cut in her Veterans Class – the largest Veterans entry!

More excitement was to follow during Best of Breed judging! Burni and Kalipso made it to the last call! In the very end, Burni was cut from the line-up but Kalipso went on to receive an Award of Merit!

Also of note: Kalipso, Burni, Duri, Flareon and Josi the Silken received OFA Heart Certification.
